ElectroKoustic
Musicians
|
|
|
Through the talents of the band members, The ElectroKoustic band's electronic instruments expand
the sonic output of the traditional trio. This creates the sound of a much
larger band. All music is played live, with no reliance on programmed or
sequenced music.

Devin Walker -
drummer/percussionist-
uses a small bass drum, snare and cymbals along with a Roland SPD-S electronic
drum. This hybrid drum set allows him to play the normal drum groove along with
the additional color that is normally played by an additional percussionist. In
smaller venues where a small footprint is necessary, he will bring only the
small electronic drum pad and still create deep pocket groove, with percussive
punch.

John Lewis
–
guitarist and vocalist - plays a nylon string classical guitar that is also a
guitar synthesizer controller. He has developed a technique of playing bass
lines on the lowest strings -which simultaneously triggers bass patches on the synth- while playing chord on the upper strings. This technique and sonic
combination creates a fat bottom end with rich guitar and keyboard color.

Arch Thompson (aka A.T.)
is the energetic soloist of the band, playing tenor and alto flutes
and piccolo. A.T. leaves no part of the flute unexplored in his sometimes
percussive, sometimes melodic technique. He’s even been known to scat sing while
playing. He’s just wild!
